What is Biotuss-Dm Used For? Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant. This combination medication is used to treat a cough associated with the common cold, allergies and other respiratory illnesses.

How To Use Biotuss-Dm
Take Biotuss-Dm as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. Do not increase your dose or take this more often than directed. Capsules and long-acting tablets must be swallowed whole with a full glass of water. Do not crush or chew them. The long action will be destroyed and the chance of side effects will be increased.

Biotuss-Dm Side Effects
Headache, dizziness, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting may occur the first several days as your body adjusts to the medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop any of these effects while taking Biotuss-Dm: skin rash, trouble breathing. Use caution driving or operating machinery if Biotuss-Dm makes you feel dizzy. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Biotuss-Dm Precautions
Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), any allergies. Biotuss-Dm should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. Since small amounts of Biotuss-Dm are found in breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Biotuss-Dm Drug Interactions

Biotuss-Dm Overdose
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, blurred vision, slowed breathing, and seizures.

Missed Biotuss-Dm Dose
