What is Centany Used For? Centany is used to treat infections of the skin such as impetigo.

How To Use Centany
Clean and dry the affected area before applying the medication. To apply, gently massage a small amount of the medication into the affected area and surrounding skin three times daily or as directed by your doctor. Cover with a loose fitting bandage if desired. Continue to use the medication as prescribed for the full time prescribed. Stopping therapy too early can result in a re- infection. If no improvement is seen in 3 to 5 days, consult your doctor. Another medication may be necessary. Avoid using Centany around the eyes, nose, mouth, or on large areas of damaged or broken skin unless directed otherwise by your doctor.

Centany Side Effects
Centany may cause burning, stinging or itching when first applied to the skin. This should disappear in a few days as your body adjusts to the medication. If these effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor promptly if the following effects occur: redness or swelling in the treated area. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Centany Precautions
Tell your doctor your medical history, especially: kidney disease, any allergies. Use of Centany for prolonged or repeated periods may result in a secondary infection (e.g., fungal infection). Tell your doctor if you are pregnant before using Centany. It is not known if Centany is excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Centany Drug Interactions
Tell your doctor of all medicines you may use (both prescription and nonprescription), especially of: chloramphenicol, any skin products. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

Centany Overdose
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Centany may be harmful if swallowed.

Missed Centany Dose
If you miss a dose, apply as soon as remembered and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double-up the dose to catch up.

Centany Storage
Store ointment at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. Avoid freezing. Do not store in the bathroom.
