How To Use Cortisporin
For best results, use Cortisporin exactly as directed. Continue using it for the full time prescribed. Stopping Cortisporin too soon may not clear the infection and may result in a relapse of the illness. EYE: Apply eye drops to the affected eye(s) as follows. Wash hands first. To avoid contamination, do not touch the dropper tip or let it touch your eye or any other surface. Shake the eye drops before using. Tilt your head back, gaze upward and pull down the lower eyelid to make a pouch. Place the dropper directly over the eye and administer the prescribed number of drops. Look downward and gently close your eye for 1 to 2 minutes. Place one finger at the corner of the eye near your nose and apply gentle pressure. This will prevent the medication from draining away from the eye. Do not blink or rub the eye. Do not rinse the dropper after use. Replace cap tightly. If you are using another kind of eye drop, wait at least five minutes before applying other medications. EAR: To apply ear drops, wash hands first. Follow same rules to avoid contamination as noted above. Lie on your side or tilt the affected ear upward. Place the dropper directly over the ear and administer the prescribed number of drops. To roll the drops into the ear - Adults: pull the ear lobe up and back. Children: pull the ear lobe down and back. Keep the head tilted for about 2 minutes or insert a soft cotton plug if directed to do so by your doctor. Do not rinse the dropper. Replace cap after use.
