What is Dexacine Used For? Dexacine is used to treat eye infections.

How To Use Dexacine
For best effects, Dexacine must be used as directed. Continue using it for the full time prescribed. Stopping Dexacine too soon may not clear the infection and could possibly result in a reinfection. Apply eye ointment to the affected eye(s) as follows: Wash hands first. To avoid contamination, be careful not to touch the tube tip or let it touch your eye. Rolling the ointment tube in your hands for a minute will make the ointment flow easier. Tilt your head back, gaze upward and pull down the lower eyelid to make a pouch. Place 1/4 to 1/2 inch of ointment into the pouch by squeezing the tube gently. Close the eye and roll the eyeball in all directions to spread the medication. Try not to blink and do not rub the eye. Wipe the tip of the ointment tube with a tissue to remove excess medication before capping it. If you are using an eye drop in addition to Dexacine, apply the eye drops first and wait at least five minutes before applying this eye ointment. If you are using another type of eye ointment, wait at least ten minutes after using Dexacine before applying it.

Dexacine Side Effects
Dexacine may temporarily sting or burn your eyes for a minute or two when first applied. If this continues or becomes bothersome, inform your doctor. Vision may be temporarily blurred or unstable for a period after applying eye ointment. Use caution if driving or performing duties requiring clear vision. Notify your doctor immediately if you develop: skin rash, itching/burning/redness/pain/swelling in or around the eyes, vision problems. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
