What is Adagen Used For? Adagen is an enzyme that is given to persons who lack it. It is used to improve the immune system.
How To Use Adagen
Adagen is given by injection into a muscle usually every 7 days. It is important that Adagen be used as scheduled to maintain the proper enzyme level. Blood tests will be done frequently to monitor your response to the medication and your dosing schedule will be adjusted accordingly. Symptoms should improve gradually in a few weeks to months.
Adagen Side Effects
Notify your doctor if the following effects occur: headache, pain at the injection site. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Adagen Precautions
Tell your doctor if you have any pre-existing conditions, such as: blood disorders, bone marrow disease, illnesses, any allergies. Adagen should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known if Adagen appears in breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Adagen Drug Interactions
Some medications may interact with Pegademase and possibly alter test results. Tell your doctor about all over- the-counter and prescription medication you use, especially: vidarabine. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Adagen Overdose
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Missed Adagen Dose
Do not double dose if missed. Resume regular schedule as soon as possible.
Adagen Storage
Store Adagen in the refrigerator. Do not freeze it or keep it at room temperature.
