What is Coldmist La Used For? Guaifenesin is an expectorant used to help clear mucous and congestion. Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant which helps relieve nasal congestion. This combination medication is used to treat symptoms associated with a cold, allergies or respiratory tract illness.

How To Use Coldmist La
Take Coldmist La by mouth. It should be swallowed whole. Do not crush or chew the medication. If stomach upset occurs, this may be taken with food or milk. Take Coldmist La as directed. Do not increase the dose or take it more often or longer than prescribed. It is recommended to drink plenty of fluids (6-8 glasses a day) to help relieve congestion.

Coldmist La Side Effects
Nausea, stomach upset, loss of appetite, nervousness, dizziness, or headache may occur the first several days as your body adjusts to the medication. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, a rapid heart rate, anxiety, fear, difficulty urinating (men only), difficulty sleeping. Because Coldmist La may cause dizziness, use caution performing tasks requiring alertness and avoid consuming alcohol which can aggravate this effect. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Coldmist La Precautions
Tell your doctor if you have: pre-existing heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, lung disease, emphysema, high blood pressure, overactive thyroid, diabetes mellitus, glaucoma, difficulty urinating, an enlarged prostate, history of seizures. Coldmist La should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known if Coldmist La appears in breast milk; consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Coldmist La Drug Interactions
Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: sleeping pills, sedatives, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, medication for depression, medication for high blood pressure. Tell your doctor if you have taken any MAO inhibitors in the last two weeks: furazolidone, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine, linezolid. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

Coldmist La Overdose
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, fast or irregular heartbeat, and seizures.

Missed Coldmist La Dose
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up the dose to catch up.
