Could Viagra Raise STD Risks in Gay Men?

Researchers have begun asking the federal government to impose
new restrictions on
Viagra
due to recent findings that gay men are more likely to engage in
unprotected sex and are thus more susceptible to sexually transmitted
diseases while taking the drug. The findings of these studies published in the June 2005
issue of the
American Journal of Medicine surveyed gay
and bisexual males, mostly from the San Francisco area. The study authors
would like the government to consider making Viagra a controlled substance
which would eliminate the free samples and make it harder for traffickers to sell.
