the flood warning continues for the des moines river near stratford...or from the boone river...to near the city of boone. * until further notice. * at 9:00 am friday the stage was 23.1 feet...and falling. * flood stage is 14 feet. * major flooding is occurring and is forecast to continue. * forecast...fall to 22.7 feet saturday morning.

...band of moderate snow continues across portions of central iowa...
a band of moderate snow extended along a line from audubon to crawford...east through boone...webster city...to iowa falls will continue to slowly shift south and east late this afternoon into the evening hours. an additional inch of new snow may accumulate through 6 pm cdt...generally on elevated surfaces and grassy areas...within the heaviest snowfall. roads may become slick and slushy in spots...along with some minor ponding of water as ground temperatures remain above freezing. visibility will be reduced to less than one half mile at times.
travelers are advised to utilize winter driving skills and allow some extra time to reach your destination safely.
