...enhanced fire threat for late this morning through this
afternoon...

westerly winds will be sustained around 15 to 20 mph with frequent
gusts around 25 to 30 mph late this morning through this
afternoon. fuel moisture remains low due to the recent spell of
dry weather. a decrease in dewpoints behind a cold front will
cause the relative humidity to drop to near 30 percent in the mid
atlantic region from late morning through the afternoon hours. the
combination of low fuel moisture...gusty winds...and low relative
humidity will pose an enhanced threat for the spread of wildfires.

open burning is strongly discouraged today.
