low pressure over eastern ontario will lift east into western quebec
today. strong northwest gales to 40 knots will continue across the
eastern half of lake superior today in the wake of the low. waves of
15 to 20 feet will slowly subside to 12 to 16 feet late this
afternoon along the shorelines of alger and marquette counties as
winds gradually diminish.
waves this high may cause beach erosion and some minor flooding
of low lying roads such as lakeshore boulevard in marquette.
owners of property near the lake superior shoreline are urged to
listen to noaa weather radio or your local media for later
updates on this situation and take appropriate action to protect
property. people are urged to stay away from the shoreline due to
high waves.
