Flood Warning - East Marshall (Minnesota)

the flood warning continues for the following rivers in
minnesota...north dakota...

this is a follow-up statement to the current warnings for...
the red river at wahpeton affecting wilkin and richland counties
the red river at fargo affecting clay and cass counties
the red river at halstad affecting norman and traill counties
the red river at east grand forks affecting polk and grand forks
counties
the red river at oslo affecting marshall...walsh...polk and grand
forks counties

.partly to mostly sunny skies with daytime temperatures well above
freezing through thursday will accelerate snowmelt and runoff
causing water levels to rise along the red river. expect major
flooding at all river forecast points. seven-day forecasts have
been issued for the red river at drayton and pembina...but because
crests are not expected at these locations for many days...no flood
warning products will be issued at this time.

river ice and ice jams continue to be a problem along the entire red
river...especially at and around the wahpeton area. although the
current water level in wahpeton is falling...additional rises are
expected over the next few days as peak flow from the bois de sioux
river makes its way through the wahpeton area. this forecast assumes
the ice continues to affect the river stages in and around wahpeton.
even if the ice moves out of the area...the river stage will remain
above 15 feet through the remainder of the week. stay tuned for future
forecast updates as ice affects can result in rapid fluctuations in
river levels.

this forecast is for a 7 day period...the highest stage indicated
may not reflect the crest for this flood event. forecasts are
updated daily and stage values will change as new weather and
river information is used. this forecast includes any
