the flood warning continues for
the mississippi river at canton ld20
* until further notice.
* at 8:30 pm saturday the stage was 16.1 feet.
* flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* minor flooding is forecast.
* forecast...the river will rise to near 16.6 feet tuesday evening then
begin falling.
* impact...at 16.8 feet...burlington northern/sante fe railroad tracks
are overtopped.
* impact...at 16.6 feet...the lower road leading to the campground and
rv park floods at this height.
* impact...at 14.0 feet...both banks begin to overflow. minor damages begin.

...winter weather advisory remains in effect until 1 pm cdt
sunday...
a winter weather advisory for snow and sleet remains in
effect until 1 pm cdt sunday.
* snow will gradually transition to a mix of rain...snow and sleet
this evening and into sunday morning. the mix of snow and sleet
is expected to change over to all rain by noon sunday. some
light freezing rain will be possible as the precipitation
changes to liquid and below freezing temperatures for a few
hours may cause some very light glazing on objects. however...
ground temperatures in the mid 30s to around 40 will limit the
glazing on streets and overpasses.
* snow and sleet accumulations of 2 to 5 inches primarily along
and west of a california to quincy line.
* road conditions will remain wet and slushy as snow accumulates
this evening and into the overnight hours.

a winter weather advisory is issued for a variety of winter
weather conditions...such as snow...blowing snow...sleet...or
freezing drizzle and rain. it only takes a small amount of wintry
precipitation to make roads...bridges...sidewalks...and parking
lots icy and dangerous. it is often difficult to tell when ice
begins to form...so do not be caught off guard.
