* at 10:30 am saturday the stage was 19.0 feet.
* flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* forecast...the river will continue rising to near 20.1 feet by
early monday morning then begin falling.
* at 19.0 feet...backwater from the missouri river floods property
along the nodaway river at nodaway missouri.
* at 17.0 feet...lowland flooding upstream and downstream from st.
joseph occurs.

warning continues for
the missouri river at atchison.
* from sunday morning to late thursday night.
* at 2:44 pm friday the stage was 21.7 feet.
* flood stage is 22.0 feet.
* minor flooding is forecast.
* forecast...rise above flood stage by sunday morning and continue to
rise to near 22.6 feet by early monday afternoon. the river will
fall below flood stage by early thursday morning.
* at 22.0 feet...low-lying areas on the missouri side of the river
begin to flood.

Winter Weather Advisory - Buchanan (Missouri) |
strong winter storm to affect the region this weekend...
.a complex late season winter storm will impact parts of the
region through sunday morning while winding down across parts of
northern missouri and extreme northeast kansas by early this
evening.
after a lull in the precipitation this morning...light to moderate
snow will over spread areas from around kansas city to macon
southward...from west to east by midday. areas to the north of this
line should see much lighter snow. as the north texas system tracks
east saturday night and sunday...snow will continue...with the
heaviest snowfall expected mainly over areas along and south of a
paola to moberly line.

evening...
a winter weather advisory for snow and blowing snow remains in effect
until 7 pm cdt this evening.
* location...northeast kansas...and parts of northwest and north
central missouri...including the st joseph area.
* timing...light snow will continue over this region through the
morning and into the afternoon...gradually tapering off by tonight.
* snow accumulations...additional snow accumulations will be light
with less than one inch possible. storm total snow accumulations
of 3 to 5 inches...with locally greater amounts are expected.
* impacts...roads will remain slick and hazardous today with
strong north winds causing areas of blowing and drifting snow
which will reduce visibilities. motorists should exercise
extreme caution when traveling.

will cause primarily travel difficulties. be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities...and use caution while
driving.
