much warmer air today and thursday may heighten hydrologic
concerns...
afternoon temperatures will peak in the upper 40s to mid 50s
today...and in the 40s on thursday. overnight lows tonight will
likely be just below the freezing mark. these warmer conditions are
expected to accelerate the spring melt across northern north
dakota...which could result in some overland flooding due to plugged
culverts. however significant rises on area rivers and streams are
not expected today and tomorrow. the national weather service in
bismarck will continue to monitor the hydrologic conditions across
northern north dakota this week. cooler weather forecast for friday
through the weekend will likely slow the rate of melting.
now is the time to take the necessary actions to prepare for
possible flooding in your area.
