flood warning for melting snow remains in effect for dickey...
mcintosh...lamoure and logan counties until 600 pm cdt saturday...
overland and river flooding continues across the southern james
river valley in north dakota. elevated...and rising water levels
were noted on the james river...maple river and bear creek. multiple
township roads are likely still underwater...with additional
standing water in low lying areas. the latest report friday evening
was in mcintosh county...a road near lake hoskins about 3 miles west
of ashley was closed due to a washout.
colder temperatures friday effectively stopped snow melt....and
slowed runoff. however...temperatures will once again rebound on
saturday and sunday...resulting in additional snow melt and runoff.
some areas that may experience flooding
include...ashley...berlin...burnstad...danzig...dickey...
edgeley...ellendale...forbes...fredonia...fullerton...gackle...glover
...grand rapids...guelph...kulm...lamoure...lehr...ludden...marion...
merricourt...monango...napoleon...oakes...venturia...verona...wishek
and zeeland.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
most flood related deaths occur in automobiles. do not attempt to
cross bridges...dips...or other low spots if water covers the
roadway. never try to cross a flowing stream...even a small one...on
foot or in a vehicle.
