the flood warning continues for the passaic river at pine brook. * until tuesday evening...or until the warning is cancelled. * at 8:30 pm sunday the stage was estimated at 19.1 feet. * flood stage is 19.0 feet. * minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * forecast...the river will continue to fall to below flood stage overnight tonight...but may rise back over flood stage tuesday morning.

the national weather service in mount holly has issued a
* flood watch for portions of northern new jersey and northwest new jersey...including the following areas...in northern new jersey...middlesex...morris...somerset...sussex and warren. in northwest new jersey...hunterdon.
* from monday afternoon through tuesday afternoon
* rain heavy at times later monday afternoon and monday night will taper off during tuesday as low pressure passes through the region. general rain amounts are forecast to be in the range of one to one and a half inches...with local amounts possibly around two inches.
* since streams and rivers are elevated...and surface and especially subsurface moisture is high...additional small stream and even river flooding could occur monday night and tuesday. residents in areas along the passaic and raritan river basins where flooding was recent or even ongoing may experience renewed flooding into the middle of this coming week...and are urged to check preparedness requirements and be ready for action if a warning is issued or flooding occurs.
