the national weather service in binghamton has issued a
* flood watch for portions of new york and northeast
pennsylvania...including the following counties...in new
york...delaware...otsego and sullivan. in northeast
pennsylvania...northern wayne.
* from this afternoon through tuesday evening
* rain will spread into the region this afternoon, and continue
overnight and into tuesday. small stream and river flooding may
develop as a result of the rains, and snow melt off the high
terrain.
* the latest river forecasts indicate the potential for minor
flooding along the delaware river, and on small streams.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
a flood watch means there is the potential for flooding on small
streams...creeks...poor drainage...urban and low-lying areas
based on current forecasts. you should monitor later forecasts
and be alert for possible flood warnings. those living...working
or driving in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take
