Short Term Forecast - Kiowa (Oklahoma) |
at noon...an upper level low centered over northern louisiana was
moving slowly east. low cloudiness on the back side of the low
stretched as far west as cherokee...watonga...and duncan...while the
sky over the rest of oklahoma and north texas was clear. scattered
light snow was falling east of interstate 35.
through the early afternoon...brief bursts of heavy snow will be
possible in southeastern oklahoma...affecting areas near and east of
seminole...ada...and madill. light snow will occur across portions
of central oklahoma...possibly as far west as stillwater...oklahoma
city...and duncan. very little additional accumulation of snow is
expected. due to temperatures near or above freezing... the snow
will have minimal impact on travel as roads should be mostly wet.
north winds at 20 to 30 mph are expected across most of the area
this afternoon...with a few gusts to near 40 mph. winds will be in
the lower portion of this range across northwest oklahoma.
