the flood warning continues for the following river in south dakota... james river near columbia james river near stratford james river at ashton james river near redfield turtle creek at redfield
.the following river forecasts include forecast precipitation through the next 24 hours. any additional future precipitation could affect the crest forecasts.
the james river from columbia to redfield will continue to rise over the next several days with major flooding expected. moderate flooding is expected to continue on turtle creek at redfield. ice action may cause fluctuations of the river stages.

the flood warning continues for the james river near stratford * until further notice... * at 10am thursday the stage was 16.6 feet... * minor flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast... * flood stage is 14.0 feet... * the river rose above flood stage and will continue rising to near 19.3 feet by wednesday morning march 24th. additional rises may be possible thereafter. * at 19.5 feet...the bridge 2 miles north of the gage is overtopped.

the flood warning continues for the james river at ashton * until further notice... * at 10am thursday the stage was 16.9 feet... * major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast... * flood stage is 13.0 feet... * the river rose above flood stage and will continue rising to near 20.2 feet by early tuesday morning march 23rd. * at 21.0 feet...the main east-west highway begins to flood on the east bank of the river and the water overtops the bridge 2 miles south and 1 mile east of ashton.
