scattered rain showers and a few thunderstorms will develop this
evening across the western sections of the texas and oklahoma
panhandles. movement will be northeast at 25 mph. through midnight...
areas around glenrio...romero...texline...bootleg...simms...adrian...
felt...ware...dalhart and hereford will receive light rain. through
midnight...spotty rainfall amounts of up to one tenth inch can be
expected. later tonight...showers and thunderstorms are expected to
become more numerous...and are expected to spread into additional
sections of the texas and oklahoma panhandles.

rain and possibly some snow for the panhandles through
monday...
a storm system will move southeast from new mexico into far west
texas by monday afternoon. northeast upslope winds across the
panhandles will continue to bring low level moisture into the
region. the storm system will combine with the added low level
moisture to bring rain to the panhandles through monday evening.
a few thunderstorms will also be possible...mainly across the
southwest texas panhandle...this evening.
as colder air filters into the western oklahoma and texas panhandles
late tonight into monday morning it could help to change some of the
rain over to snow. at this time...any accumulations of snow are
expected to remain under one inch near the new mexico state line.
however...there is some uncertainty in this forecast. if the rain
switches over to snow earlier than expected...then there could be at
least a few inches of accumulation across the western panhandles.
snow chances will be greater into new mexico in the higher
elevations.
rainfall totals could reach over one half of an inch...especially
across the southwest half of the texas panhandle by monday night.
